  1. Crafters Membership:
    1. Applicants must be a member of a sanctioned UoFG entity for no less than one week.
    2. Submit a request for membership to the UoFG Crafting Ministry.
    3. Applicants are required to either submit a log demonstrating a basic level of craft competence or attend a class in Basic Crafting before they will be admitted by the Craft Ministry.
      1. Competence logs describe the creation of a basic function item, and have the same word/line requirements as a +1 enhancer log (330 words/40 lines).
      2. Items created for competence logs are considered non-registered, but may be kept on file by the Craft Ministry. In the event that such an item is later used in a construction or enchantment log they are considered a 50 CP item (IE: The original crafter is paid a commission of 5 CP).

  2. Enhancer Creation Assignment:
    1. Enhancers are crafted/upgraded/repaired by order only and are assigned to crafters of appropriate rank via a rotating lottery.
    2. Enhancer orders/upgrades/repairs need to be sent from the purchasing entities Grand Commander and sent to the Ministry of Crafting.
    3. A crafter has 48 hours to respond to an enhancer upgrade/creation request acknowledging if they wish to complete or pass on the crafting opportunity. A crafter who passes on the opportunity is withdrawn from the current round of the lottery.
    4. A crafter has a base of five (5) days to complete an order from the time of his/her acknowledgement or it will be reassigned to another and their name withdrawn from the current round of the lottery.
    5. Method of construction is up to the crafter unless the order includes specific requests. A minimum amount of work is required per enhancer modifier.
    6. Primary crafters earn 10 percent commission on the sale or upgrade cost of the enhancer, to be paid to the guild or clan of their choice. Assisting crafters earn a 5 percent commission of their participation.
    7. The lottery is designed to ensure fair distribution of enhancer orders. As each crafter is offered the opportunity to craft or upgrade an enhancer, they are removed to allow others the same opportunity. Once all have been given the opportunity the lottery begins again.
    8. The Ministry of Crafting reserves the right to refuse or accept any submitted log, either for order fulfillment or credit. A member who feels their log is being unfairly rejected may appeal to the UoFG Parliament to review the case.

  1. Breakage and Repair:
    1. Enhancer breaking points:
      1. For offensive enhancers, a double botch (a roll that includes two or more 1's), will cause a weapon to break.
      2. For defensive enhancers, an attacker rolling a double critical (a roll that includes two or more dice of maximum facing) will cause the armor to break.
      3. Support enhancers are immune to breakage.
    2. Repairs:
      1. Repairs are possible on broken enhancers. The cost for repair is half the cost of the enhancer.
      2. Repair orders sent to the Ministry of Crafting will be assigned to an eligible, registered crafter of appropriate rank.
  2. Additional Regulations:
    1. Craft Workshops:
      1. From time to time, the Ministry of Crafting may request the services of the Senior Masters and Grand Masters in order to educate and train others. These take the form of craft workshops.
      2. .A craft workshop is a hands on training session with several Apprentices and Journeymen to introduce them to aspects of crafting and increase their knowledge and skill. This also allows them to ask questions and receive feedback from their peers.
      3. The hosting crafter may request that the workshop has a limited occupancy, but other than this limit a workshop is open to all registered crafters regardless of affiliation.
      4. Hosting crafters will be compensated for their time, receiving the instructor pay scale for each hour that they keep the workshop open.
      5. While attendance to available workshops is not mandatory, it does allow junior crafters to hone and exhibit their skills. The hosting crafter may privately recognize outstanding contribution from a junior crafter to the ministry, who has the option of awarding advancement credit to these individuals.
      6. Crafting workshops are not a place for entity business, and it is expected that everyone will work together and act accordingly when in attendance.
    2. Material Requests:
      1. In recognition of the fact that not every crafter has access to a private workroom, the Ministry of Crafters offers several fully stocked workshops to crafters. The materials for these, however, do not come from thin air.
      2. Occasionally, the Ministry of Crafting will send material requests to registered crafters in order to replenish the storerooms.
      3. The structure or requirements for these requests varies from personal requests (constructed similarly to enhancer orders), to forum-wide collection events.
      4. Participation in these requests is not mandatory; however participants may be rewarded with CP or project credit toward advancement.
    3. Craft Sales:
      1. The Ministry of Crafting will occasionally host Craft Sales, although doing so is solely at the discretion of the Ministers.
      2. All requirements for valid log submission are unchanged, including word/line count and the use of subsidiary crafters.
      3. All registered crafters are permitted to submit a single log for inclusion in the sale. This log can be for any item type (Offensive, Defensive, Thief, Assassin), and any strength that the crafter is eligible for.
        1. Crafters who act as subsidiaries are considered to have fulfilled their submission.
      4. Crafters will receive project credit for any logs accepted for the sale. Crafters will be paid standard commission on any enhancers purchased during the sale.
  3. Teaching Logs
    1. Once a crafter has taken the course and reached Master they may teach.
    2. Each teaching log counts as .5 points toward advancement. (Attendance for the first time in a class is also worth .5 credit toward advancement.)
    3. People may be awarded credit for two teaching logs per calendar month.
    4. Teachers may request the course outline from the Crafting Ministry.
    5. Teachers are required to teach everything in the outlines. They may add their own personal touches or information, but may not skip over anything.
    6. Accounting Information:
      1. Accounting for the taught course is handled specifically by the UoFG Accountant. If there is a problem with the CP awarded the teacher may appeal to the Accountant and the Trinity. Please be specific when explaining what the problem is.
      2. For teaching, there is a base pay of 2 CP and 2 additional CP for each student that attends.
      3. Teachers that sign up to teach a course, but do not show and cannot provide a reasonable excuse for their absence (to be determined by the ministry) will be fined 20 CP unless a substitute is assigned.
      4. Up to two substitute teachers may be used for a course, it is the teacher’s duty to find these substitutes when submitting the offer to teach. Substitutes must be aware of their title and must be available during that time to teach should an emergency come up with the initial teacher. Should a substitute have to take over the initial teacher's course, accounting will award him/her and not the person who initially scheduled the course.
    7. To offer to teach the course please send a notice to the Crafting Ministry (fireangelmysti) with the specific day and time you wish to teach. Once a class is established the Ministry will send an announcement to the forum that it will be held.
    8. It is the teacher’s responsibility to send in the teaching log. Teachers must ask for roll call (ask the students for their names, entities are not needed) before starting to teach. If students show up late for the course, teachers must ask for role-call at the end of the course as well.
    9. Teachers should send the teaching log to themselves, participants and the full Parliament.
