The Union of Free Guilds believes in providing a safe gaming forum; one that works fairly and justly. We feel that when you submit a complaint, we want to assure ourselves as well as yourself that you have taken all the necessary precautions to prevent situations that can make for difficult gaming in all major and personal storylines.
First ask yourself this: Does my complaint have a place in a gaming forum? Was it involving the forum or was it strictly OOC and/or personal?
If your problem did not involve forum matters, and/or was personal or OOC, then there would be no reason to send us a complaint. The trinity/parliament have no place in your personal life. Complaints regarding OOC are restricted to excessive mun bashing and CRP (See Descriptions Below).
When submitting a complaint, please fill in all of the blanks on the form. You must provide proof of your complaint if it is directed at another player. Please provide all proof in your initial submission. Any additional submissions, at a later date, will delay our ability to review your complaint in a timely manner. Complaints are only to be submitted to the Parliament, your Entity Commander and your Second-in-Command. If you do not fill in your name or include proof, we will be unable to consider your complaint.
The following is designed to give the complaining party a more accurate and in depth description of what type of complaints the Parliament will and will not consider discussing. Please read them carefully, so that you can decipher whether or not your complaint is frivolous or not.
Personal problems outside of role-play and the computer
It is up to you to decide what the best course of action is if it is interfering with your role-play. We shall support any decision you make, but we are not here to make that decision for you. Do not send us any mails regarding personal problems and OOC problems not pertaining to role-play within the forum.
Recommended Solution:
Contact AOL CAT or TOS or any proper authority that is qualified to handle excessive OOC or personal situations.
Mun Bashing
You are asked that if you do not appreciate someone mun bashing you that you either block/ignore the individual(s), boot them from rooms, or report them to TOS. In UoFG, if someone is being disruptive OOC, then you may bolt them with no fine or penalty. If those solutions do not solve the problem, then we will hear the complaint. Just because the Parliament is hearing your complaint, does not mean that we will do anything outside of issuing a warning. Mun bashing is against the rules, but is heard on a case by case basis. If you do not try to remedy the problem yourself first, then do not file the complaint because we will not view it past an initial glimpsing.
Recommended Solutions:
Use the bolt to eject said member(s) after at least one warning is given.
Block the person from contacting you through IMs and Email.
Contact AOL CAT or TOS regarding bashing that is in a chat room if such persists over time.
If the person still harasses you through an alternative means, press a complaint.
Cross Role-play (CRP)
CRP is defined by UoFG as when you take information that you know OOC and apply it IC without being able to provide proof of how the knowledge became learned by your character. Going out of character to complain, or whine about the game is not CRP. If we receive logs of this, it will be disregarded. Everybody has a time when they must vent, and it is not up to a forum to shake a finger at something that just naturally happens as a reaction to the game.
Recommended Solution:
Submit all proof, all at once, to the UoFG complaint box if the CRP falls into our above definition, we will review it. Also provide any and all attempts to have the issue settled.
Excessive Harassment
If you are being harassed in chat rooms OOC by certain individuals who either come to your rooms to harass you or your members, and/or try to take over your chats and you have warned the individual(s) twice, please submit all your proof at once for us to handle the situation. This falls under mun bashing as well, however, as stated in that portion of this filter; this is the type that we will be more inclined to take action against.
Recommended Solutions:
Block the individual on a base of IMs and e-mails. If the person is harassing your entity members or friends, please inform them to mirror the same actions and that if any are still in contact with the harassing party after the missive are asked to take further situations up with AOL TOS or CAT.
Use the bolt to remove the offending parties from the room. If your chat rooms are being harassed, please provide proof of the scenarios at hand (such as the harassing party opening guild or storyline rooms without permission) and make new rooms. If the room they are taking over is registered, we will be glad to aid you in allowing for chat room name extensions for the establishment to apply under the registration.
All else fails, send all proof all at once and fill out the Complaint Form below.
In Character Animosity
Complaints that involve animosity between characters, no matter how vulgar or uncalled for are not to be sent to us. While it is unfortunate that there are characters out there that are uncouth in nature, it is not in our duty to control how a person plays their character, and secondly, it is not even our right to tell people how to play their characters. Regardless of the situation, if proof cannot be provided that it was a result of CRP, then your complaint will be disregarded.
Recommended Solution:
Please review our Combat Charter for possible battle solutions to settle the issue. If the situation becomes physical, please review our Assassins charter to place a contract if it is applicable. If it comes down to it, you are also encouraged to look at the War mandates in order to learn how to declare war on another entity. All other further animosity issues, it is up to you as a player to accept them, or ignore them.
